Pismo

Our family took a little one-day getaway last Friday and spent the day at Pismo Beach.  A large group from church spends one week there each summer, and this was Pismo Week, so we joined in by driving over for the day.

We arrived just in time to eat some fantastic clam chowder at the Splash Cafe.  We've eaten there several times now, and every time it's worth the wait in line to get in.

We then headed over to Avila Beach, where the boys rented some wet suits and boogie boards and spent some time playing in the Pacific.  (That's them heading into the waves in the picture below - teeny and front and center).

Later we headed over to eat steaks at Jocko's in nearby Nipomo.  (Sorry, but Jocko's does not appear to have a website, which actually is not very surprising to me.) 

Finally, we joined our church friends on the beach for a bonfire, and then headed back to Fresno. 

A long day, but a good day.
